Architecture

The architecture utilized by the UCBP is modular and simple, hence cost-efficient. Each building type is designed to maximize efficiency. Buildings are also adapted to the surrounding area’s climate and topography. This is achieved using shading elements, natural ventilation systems and orienting buildings according to sun and wind directions.

MH Engineering, in cooperation with architects and engineers from the 38 companies participating in the Capacity Development Program, is responsible for the design of all building types. GIZ supervises and controls this process, contributing knowledge of design processes, cost efficient construction principles, design-software and project management.
