GTZ

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) provides viable, forward-looking solutions for political, economic, ecological and social development in a globalized world. With over 10 000 men and women working in more than 120 countries, GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve peoples’ living conditions on a sustainable basis. GTZ is fully owned by the German Government.

Established in 1933, GTZ has been working in Ethiopia for more than 30 years. Today, GTZ is working in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission from the Ethiopian government and international donors. GTZ currently has more than 200 international experts and around 425 national staff throughout the country.

GTZ International Services, a division of GTZ, is GTZ’s vehicle for offering services to clients other than the German Government. GTZ works on a public-benefit basis. Any surpluses generated are channelled back into its own international cooperation projects for sustainable development.
