Center of Excellence for Engineering

The Center of Excellence for Engineering (CEE) ensures that practical experiences gained from the UCBP continue to serve as a resource to the construction sector. Established by the Ministry of Capacity Building in April 2002, the CEE is a knowledge management, documentary and training center for best practices in construction. The CEE is located in the Kotebe area of Addis Ababa, near the CMC housing complex.

Knowledge and expertise captured during the course of UCBP construction and capacity building will be transferred to Ethiopia’s construction sector through the distribution of CEE manuals on best practices. In addition, 13 CEE skill upgraders work alongside 20 German master craftsmen in various construction trades to increase the technical skills and knowledge of laborers onsite.
