Who we are

Together, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Capacity Building are guiding and funding the UCBP.

GTZ IS (German Technical Cooperation International Services) is the program management and implementation agent hired by theGovernment of Ethiopia. GTZ IS is responsible for the capacity development endeavors for the construction sector within the program.

In UCBP, MH Engineering is responsible for the planning and design of the university buildings. GTZ IS supports every step of this process- from master planning to architectural, structural, electrical and sanitary design. Each building is tailored to the climate topography and seismology.

The programs capacity development endeavors covers the entire value chain within the construction sector and is tailored to each of the following groups:

• Construction Management Consultants (Tier I),
  
• Architects and Engineering Companies (Tier II),
  
• Construction Companies (Tier III), and
  
• Local and Regional Enterprises and Cooperatives (Tier IV).
