Robe is a town located 456 kmin South of Addis Ababa in the Bale highlands on an elevation of 2472 meters above sea levels. Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, the town has an estimated population of 19,290. Its official working language is Oromiffa, but Somalae and Amharic are also commonly spoken. The famous Sof Omer cave lies to the east of the town.
